Our US marketing team is broken up into two groups. Our band of 3 Sales Development Representatives (we’re looking to double this team, check out the role!). Then our intrepid marketing team made up of a content coordinator, a marketing analyst, a content writer, and typically an intern or two depending on the time of year.
Where are your teammates located?
Boston, Miami, North Carolina, and Quebec. We also work extensively with our global marketing team located in Nantes, France.
What does your team do? What are you responsible for?
Our team is responsible for the positioning and growth strategy for iAdvize here in the US. We're a savvy group of marketers and business development professionals with a passion for conversation. We try to inject conversational ideas into all of the work that we do, starting with empathy and authenticity. From our budgeting social media presence to our conversation with media series, our content, and messaging, we focus on a strong ABM approach that makes every campaign and outreach dynamic and keeps us happily on our toes (:
What are the components of a strong remote culture?
Communication and company wide adoption of a messaging platform. Use of shared calendars and project management tools like Monday. iAdvize benefits from being conversational by nature, so the team is very messaging-happy.
Strong remote cultures are built on strong connections. Strong connections are built with Hailey.
How do you make sure your team is happy and engaged in their work?
Weekly team-meetings and project check-ins. Weekly 1:1s with every team member starting with “how are you feeling this week?”.
iAdvize benefits from being conversational by nature, so the team is very messaging-happy.
What's your biggest challenge as a remote leader?
Replicating the off the cuff nature of the in-office environment when it comes to developing ideas or working on projects day-to-day. One of the ways we manage this is with specific chat rooms for sharing those types of moments with key team members to get some feedback.

Team-building Activities
We’ve done periods of weekly virtual gametime, like Jackbox Party Pack and Among US. We have also had several in-person meetups in Boston, every couple of months. With Covid precautions, the local Boston team meets in the office ~1 time a week.
Remote Games
Among US was the team favorite over the summer.
Icebreakers
Just the classic, “How was your weekend?” With the French HQ influence at iAdvize, we have a wonderful conversational culture in the team, which helps new-commers feel comfortable sharing.

GoogleChat - Any robust messaging platform really, but gChat is our drink of choice.
Resources for remote leaders
The best thing, especially over the past couple of years, has been industry or goal-specific professional groups on linked-in. People love to share.
